PERTINENT BIOLOGICAL AND PROFESSIONAL FACTS

DRAFTING I've worked in Architectural Drafting for most of my career. After a tour in the Navy in the early 1970's, I worked for a few years in photography. I then returned to school to train as a draftsman. I started with a firm drawing walk-in coolers and freezers, which was excellent training in attention to detail, as everything had to be accurate to 1/16 of an inch. Then on to an engineering company in Memphis, and after that a succession of Architectural and Homebuilding firms, where I was able to get experience in all aspects of commercial and residential design. In 1994, I made the decision to go out on my own as a contract draftsman, and a couple of years later I decided to lay down the pencil permanently and go strictly to computer-aided design, drafting, and 3D rendering. I stayed the course through 2017, and have gone part-time as a semi-retired professional. I remain excited about the small projects that I can assist with, and look forward to your project! PHOTOGRAPHY I've taken photographs since my high school years, banging around with a 35mm Yashica Lynx 5000E. I've never lost interest in it, and worked as a traveling baby photographer, studio photographer for a Memphis company, as a specialty color and B/W printer for a film processing lab, and taught basic photography and darkroom work at a Memphis camera store. I've shot my share of weddings and proms, too. I don't shoot very much professionally any more, but keep busy shooting as an artistic process. I also work with models in the studio and on location, in group seminars and on my own, as an artistic outlet and I can occasionally help models put their portfolio together. Check back soon, as I am planning some seminars on shooting, lighting, and photoshop post-production.
